Enlightenment

A particle of dust

gliding on wings of

air relishing momentary

life embedded

in a single beam of

a sun-ray, bathed in

warmth only to die

the next moment,

soaking up all the

light in that transient

moment, enlightened

knowing life is all in

one moment!

  1. Thanks Bill, life is in moments isn’t! All though we humans consider our selves evolved I feel other minuscule beings are more enlightened!

  2. Very well put.

It reminds me of a quote from the great Alberta Blackfoot First Nations Chief Crowfoot,

What is life? It is the flash of a firefly in the night. It is the breath of a buffalo in the winter cold. It is the little shadow which runs across the prairie grass and loses itself in the sunset.

    1. Beautiful lines count, a flash of a firefly, breath of buffalo….little shadow which runs across the prairie grass…..
