Wings of Youth

Turn back the time
On wings of youth
Days of our childhood
Wrapped in niavety
Sans worries, sans fear
Warmth of mom’s lap
Grandma’s gentle rebuking
Plucking raw apples from
Beareded neighbour’s garden
Running wild reckless
Drenched in first showers
Colourful candy floss
Orange, yellow, white…
Waiting long in ques
Festive harvest fairs
To be first in merry go round
Stealing glimpses
Of boy next door
Sipping dad’s left
Scotch in crystal glass
A youthful memory treasured
In aged heart forever.
